Owen Theatre

A 350-seat courtyard-style performance space (with flexibility to seat up to 468), the Owen Bruner Goodman Theatre—with a stage that can be configured as a thrust, end stage, runway or in-the-round arena—offers an intimate theater-going experience. The birthplace of dozens of new American plays, including Lynn Nottage’s Pulizer Prize-winning Ruined, and home to the annual New Stages Festival of new work, “the Owen” has hosted artists of note including Philip Seymour Hoffman, Tom Hardy, Kristofer Diaz, Tanya Saracho, Horton Foote and more.

The theater is named in honor of the grandfather of playwright Kenneth Sawyer Goodman, for whom Goodman Theatre is named.
